Generally speaking, the Captains make sure the team runs smoothly in the water, while the Presidents make sure the team runs smoothly outside the water.

A Captain’s responsibilities include:

  • Devising exercises and drills for daily practices

  • Developing winning strategies for games

  • Organizing and leading the team at both practices and games

  • Fostering a strong team identity with an emphasis on hard work and camaraderie

A President’s responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating daily practice times and venues

  • Liaising with coaches and the Club Sports Department

  • Arranging travel logistics (including car rentals, plane tickets, hotel bookings, etc.)

  • Procuring equipment

  • Fundraising

  • Setting and upholding the yearly budget

Both Captains and Presidents are also responsible for alumni outreach and maintaining a social media presence. The Vice Presidents, when such a position exists, assist the Presidents in their duties.
